Site Quality Control: Inspection Checklists, Concrete Tests and NCRs

How to run quality control on a construction project: checklists before pouring and before covering work up, concrete slump and strength tests, non-conformance reports (NCR), and a weekly quality summary.

Komander.ai Panduan team · 2 min read · Updated 9 October 2026

Wrong work is cheapest to fix before it is covered: rebar is checked before the pour, pipes are tested before the wall is plastered. Simple quality control means every important item has a check point, the result is recorded, and anything non-compliant is logged as an NCR until it is fixed.

Common mistakes

Start from a template

The full guide is in How to create a weekly construction schedule report in Google Sheets. It has a free template (Excel or Google Sheets) and a checker that reads your own workbook.

Common questions

What is an NCR?

A non-conformance report: a record of work that does not meet the specification, the repair, who is responsible and when it is closed.

When is concrete strength judged?

At 28 days unless the specification says otherwise. The 7-day test is only an early warning.

What must be checked before moving on?

Rebar and formwork before pouring, pipes and wiring before covering, and waterproofing before backfilling or covering.
